Opening Circle ~ Intention Setting & Mythos of the Sacred Drum

Frame Drum Rhythms ~  World Rhythms, Original Composistions, Drumming Techniques and Practice

Outdoor spacious social distance honoring circle. We will be following the Oregon Governor's current COVID recommendations - and will be practicing conscientious social distancing measures.

Please do not register for this event if you are not comfortable honoring outdoor social distancing. Thank you.

☀︎Please bring your own seating, a wrap, tea, and anything else you might like for your comfort while drumming outside.

This style of drumming practice is ceremonial and includes frame drumming technique, ancient feminine history, contemplations, meditation, mythology, and ritual, of sacred drumming. Students will learn both the lap-style and upright playing position.

Some of what you will experience through the practice of Sacred Drumming:

● Develop a solid drumming practice through weekly immersion into the ancient practice of frame drumming

● Learn and refine the strokes and playing techniques on the frame drum

● Discover the wide array of sounds and tonalities that can be created on this very accessible, yet powerful instrument

● Explore the ancient historical lineage of woman drummers, shamans, priestesses, Melissae connected to the frame drum from the ancient Mediterranean cultures and beyond.
