Mythopoetic Identities

"A healthy, mature culture is what we get when a majority of our people (over a certain age) have discovered their individual mythopoetic identities and are performing those identities (through culturally-relevant delivery systems) for the benefit of their more-than-human community. Mature cultures, in other words, emerge from the mystery-blossoming lives of soul-initiated people. And because soul is our most authentic and deepest human nature, we could just as well say that mature cultures come from nature — from nature's deep imagination." Bill Plotkin
