I am very excited to offer in-person tambourine classes in Southern Oregon! Learn to play the tambourine as a fun and sacred instrument.

The tambourine has a long history of use throughout the ancient world as an instrument for ceremonies, rituals, and rites of passage.

In this class, beginning students will learn everything necessary to begin a tambourine practice. This practice isn't just beating a tambourine on your hip to the rhythm of a song; it's an intricate playing style that incorporates many different fingering techniques, traditional rhythms, and stepping patterns. The tambourine is such a powerful, fun, and trance-inducing style of frame drumming.

This course is based on my long-term studies with my teacher and mentor, the late Layne Redmond, author of the book, "When the Drummers Were Women".
